Remove the spool and wipe the interior and reel shaft clean.

Cleaning your spinning reel after every major fishing trip can prolong the life of your spinning reel. I probably clean my spinning reels to much but I have never had a problem with any of my spinning reels from very cheap models all the way up to the Shimano Stella! Cleaning your spinning reel can be done quite easy but some people like to have professionals do the work for them especially if they aren't comfortable working with these high tech reels. There are many good reel technicians around and you can send your reels to them to be cleaned.
